[IC] TotMV:G^2: Clash of Fate: Breaking the Siege

Chevaleresse

Recommended Posts

It seemed that it was going to be a tense fight from the start. The enemy had already started to press forth as the gate opened to admit the team set to break the siege; a flurry of fire (of both the arrow and literal varieties) had pressed them backward enough for the heroes to get out safely, but now it was time for action; skeletons and soldiers en masse were already rushing toward the group.

Objective: Drive back the siege! The team will receive fire support from the Asterlux forces at the end of each turn. Enemies will spawn in constantly; if they are not defeated at the same speed at which they spawn, they will move into another battle. Characters may retreat to the castle on their turn; they may rejoin the battle after a period of four turns of inactivity.

Kino and Enma

Enma frowned upon noticing the skeletal hordes, similar to those of which she had fought and had been subsequently defeated before, rushing towards her and her sister. There was the shame of the failure from her previous assault and the fact that she had to fight the same beings again. It was unappealing.

The same Dragon Tooth things again? Boring!

Be wary, as I said. Kino pressed her, The same beings of which you faltered the last time, yes? Play, if you must, but be careful.

Kino (64/64)

Enma (23/23)

Kino unleashes The Debarred Eulogy, summoning Enma to fight by her side for the remainder of the match. Enma will always attack before Kino, having +1 in INIT order. (OOC: Add her into the INIT List.)

Enma attacks Dragon Tooth Archer Battalion A with a Basic Attack, marking them with Entente of Malice. (Deals Kino's level + INT damage, 3 + 9 = 12)

Kino follows up on the same Battalion A with her own Basic Attack, triggering Entente of Malice and Necromantic Pact's (weapon effect's) bonus damage. {Total damage: 2d4 + INT + INT + INT/2, = 2d4 +22)

Stat and Action Effects:

Equipment:

Name: Staff of Profanity
Description: A staff she once used for her ceremonial duties, since imbued with the unholy powers of the spirits she attracts.
Type: Weapon
Damage: 2d4 + INT
Minimum Stats: 2 INT
Weight: 1
SYN Threshold/Bonus: N/A
Special Qualities:
Bound: Only Kino can use this staff.
Necromantic Pact: Kino gains bonus damage equal to INT/2, rounded down. Current bonus: 4

Active Passives:
Shepherdesses of Souls: Kino and Enma have a 2*INT chance to critically strike for double damage with their basic attacks, separately counted.

Entente of Malice (Level 3): Passive. The vengeful spirits of Kino's deceased kin fuel Enma's Basic Attack, causing her attacks to mark her targets. Whenever Kino attacks a target marked by Enma on the same turn, her triggering attack deals bonus damage equal to 0.5 x INT, rounded down.
Level 2: Entente of Malice's bonus damage is increased to 0.75 x INT, rounded down.
Level 3: Entente of Malice's bonus damage is increased to 1 x INT.

Ghost

45/45

Con 2 | Res 12 | Dex 3 | Int 3 | Str 5 | Syn 11

"Remeber, stay alive and divide and conquer!" Ghost had shouted just before the gates had risen and the chaos of war once again greeted her ears. After so many years spent hopping from killing field to killing field though, there was little response the bloodshed about to befall them brought out of her. Aside from the cold, tactiturn glint in her eyes as she examined each of the officers and soldiers who stood against them, looking for even the slightest sign of incompetence.

"Stick together, watch your backs, and try to kill as many of them as you can! last thing we need is to be overwhelmed by numbers, or have some of them split off to harry the other groups."

Ghost uses Blood of our Bond and Lend me your Voice, Reducing her mHP by 1/4 and draining her Synergy by it's maximum value of 11, respectively. When she next summons Tama Vajra onto the Field, she will add 11 points of health to his mHP, and will increase his Synergy by 5 while increasing his Resistance by 6. These Changes revert if Tama Vajra is either defeated in battle or dismissed by Ghost.

Ghost then Enters a Hymn State, summoning forth Tama Vajra to take her place in the initiative.

Spoiler

Actions Used:

Blood of our Bond: [Free Action. Reduces the user's mHP by 1/4 its value, and adds that amount to the health of their Deva the next time they summon it. Change reverts if the Deva is either defeated or dismissed.]

Lend Me Your Voice: [Free Action. User may drain their Syn up to it's maximum value. The next time they summon their Deva, they may declare up to Two Stats to divide the drained amount between. Reverts if the Deva is defeated or dismissed.]

Perk: Caller's Pact

[The user can choose to use their action this turn to enter into a "Hymn" in combat, specialized trance-like states wherein the Caller begins singing with the full might of their Sacred Voice, allowing a being known as a “Deva” to feed upon its energy in order to regain the power they once lost. So long as the user remains in this "Hymn" state they will be unable to take actions of their own, however they may end the Hymn state as a free action during any of their subsequent turns. While the Hymn is active, the Caller’s bound Deva will take the field, and will serve to both act on their behalf, and to defend them from incoming damage.

A Deva will continue to fight and defend their caller until they run out of health, or the Caller voluntarily ends their session. In the case of the Deva's HP being reduced to 0, their caller will automatically be forced out of their Hymn state, and will be unable to re-summon their Deva for the remainder of the battle. Devas cannot be healed by allies, however, should their caller end the Hymn early, the Deva will withdraw from the field and stop fighting for them, but in exchange will be able to recover a small amount of their HP in the background with each turn that passes, equal to ½ their Caster’s Syn]

Tama Vajra

40/40 (+11/11)=51/51

Con 3 | Dex 0 | Int 0 | Res 7(+6)=13 | Str 0 | Syn 10(+5)= 15

Basic OOC TEAM PLAN

Spoiler

((Since we have no real boss here and the objective is to keep the enemies occupied and prevent them from interfering with other fights, sustainability and offensive presence will be king in this fight.

healers should support the party as best they can, focusing on either the units with the lowest health, and heal/attack hybrids should prioritize healing if anyone is below half health and can't be tended to by the main healers. Buffers, if there are any, should  buff our hardest hitting AoE users (ex. Hiroki),  AoE users should nuke the large groups with whatever they have each turn, and everyone else just try to generally provide back up/clean up for AoE users/Healers and keep the killcounts rising for us, or in the case of cleanup already being complete that turn, get to work softening up new targets to be nuked and cleaned up next turn.))

Morgan

60/60

Con 7 | Res 6 | Dex 0 | Int 4 | Str 9 | Syn 10 |

35% dodge chance(retaliates Syn/2 pure damage against attacker on success) | 20% reduction of magic/energy damage

As the gates close behind the group Morgan draws the massive sword off his back and steps to the front of the group acting threateningly and trying to distract anyone he can but doing little more damage than denting some armor or shoving people around.

Morgan makes a basic defense action reducing incoming damage by 50%, his Res is increased by [Syn]/2 against magical/energy attacks(effect of weapon).

"Y-You just wouldn't listen, huh?" Halley panted, distraught over the wounds. The effects of her suppressor were mostly removed by the opposing field officers, which further annoyed her. The numbers of the skeletal warriors kept increasing, so she had no choice but to let the officers off the hook for awhile.

Blaster - Paralyzer on DT Archer Battalion A, lowering their STR, RES, and DEX by [SYN]/2 = 3 for three turns. 2 turn cooldown. Treated as a status effect.

Lightspeed Justice Delivery: [DEX]*2=14% chance for non-damaging moves to go first. Caps at 100% chance.

Spoiler

Action:

Blaster - Paralyzer: An energy blast filled with electrical charge. Upon collision, it spreads into the body of the target, lowering their STR by Halley’s [SYN]/2. Lasts three turns. Treated as a status effect. Two-turn cooldown.

-Level 2: Additionally lowers RES by Halley’s [SYN]/2.

-Level 3: Additionally lowers DEX by Halley’s [SYN]/2.

Melina scoffed at the scratches that the soldiers did against her. If they were going to make her intimidated even a little, then they'll have to try a LOT harder than that.

She scanned the area, and with lightning fast pace, she rushed over to 'Halley' and sent a sparkling healing aura her way. It seemed a little off-colour for some reason? Hmph, she must be tired or something, or seeing double. In any case, shouldn't be a problem.

"Ain't dyin now! Now get on yo feet!"

The officers, she noticed as she came to Halley's side, was quite the hassle as well. Without knocking out the front tooth, the increasing number of skeletons will eventually overwhelm them all, even if they could do little to harm her at first.

But...she couldn't harm them. No, she will never go back. It was her vow; and a vow she will never break. She will just have to have faith that the others would be strong enough to defeat them.

[Basic Heal on Halley, healing for 1d4+10. Decrease all action cooldown by 1. Goes first of INIT order.]

"Ha! Worked like a charm!" Halley was quite satisfied with the results. She then turned to the almost-ruined Archer Battalion, deciding on dishing out some damage personally.

Action: Basic Attack (1d8+SYN = 1d8+6) on DT Archer Battalion C. +1d4 damage for every 4 DEX advantage.

Kino and Enma

Nee-san! These guys are too tough!

Stay close, dear sister. And be grateful of whatever strength you have left. Stick with me and our brethren, and you shall be safe. I take it our other allies will also come to aid if necessary.

Kino (48/64)

Enma (6/23)

Enma attacks Dragon Tooth Archer Battalion C with a Basic Attack, marking them with Entente of Malice. (Deals Kino's level + INT damage, 3 + 9 = 12)

Kino follows up on the same Battalion C with her own Basic Attack, triggering Entente of Malice and Necromantic Pact's (weapon effect's) bonus damage. {Total damage: 2d4 + INT + INT + INT/2, = 2d4 +22) This attack will also trigger United we Stand (Kino's Basic Attack heals Enma for a INT health = 9).

Stat and Action Effects:

Equipment:

Name: Staff of Profanity
Description: A staff she once used for her ceremonial duties, since imbued with the unholy powers of the spirits she attracts.
Type: Weapon
Damage: 2d4 + INT
Minimum Stats: 2 INT
Weight: 1
SYN Threshold/Bonus: N/A
Special Qualities:
Bound: Only Kino can use this staff.
Necromantic Pact: Kino gains bonus damage equal to INT/2, rounded down. Current bonus: 4

Name: Ceremonial Garbs
Description: Old, withered robes of an originally white sheen, tainted with the dust throughout her years.
Type: Armor
Damage: N/A
Minimum Stats:
Weight: 1
SYN Threshold/Bonus: N/A

Special Qualities:
Blessed Garbs: Kino takes 1 + INT/3 less damage from damage over time effects, down a minimum of 1 damage.

Last Rites: Passive. Kino's next basic attack is empowered to heal her for 4 + INT/2 health. This does not apply if Kino had started from full health even if she had taken damage afterwards, only working on the turn when she has taken damage previously. If Kino kills her target, she heals herself and her sister equal to the damage she dealt. 2 turn cooldown.

United we Stand: Enma is driven and sustained by the emotions of hate and malice shared by her kin, reveling in their release. Enma recovers health equal to Kino's INT whenever Kino unleashes a Basic Attack.

TURN 3

Melina heals Enma, Dackly, and Halley for [10] hp.

Officer D attempts to slash at Tama, but hits his phalanx instead for [14] damage! Though he manages to break through the shield, the remaining force in his stroke is nowhere near enough to harm the ancient god...

Tama, laughing at the Officer’s ineptitude, proceeds to ignore the man and unleash another storm of black lightning upon the DT Archer Battalion C, dealing [40] Damage! Another archer quite literally bites the dust!

Soldier Battalion B rushes at the storm god, slashing at Tama for [7] damage!

DT Warrior Battalion A swiftly strike Hiroki and Kino, dealing [1] and [8] damage!

DT Warrior Battalion B follows up the assault, Slashing the same two for [2] and [14] Damage!

Enma again curses the DT Archer Bat C for [7] damage, marking them for a… bad time. Kino follows it up for [21] Damage and healing Enma for [9]! Another Archer crumbles! Her sick burn flares up one more time before fading for good though, dealing [2] damage.

Soldier Battalion C flanks Kino, slashing at the priestess for [15] Damage!

Hiroki melts Officer B for [27] damage!

DT Archer Battalion B fires wildly into the crowd, fletching Tama, Morgan (78-failed), and Melina for [0], [9], and [0] damage!

DT Archer Battalion D fires upon the same three for [0], (37-failed)[5], and [0] Damage!

DT Archer Battalion C brings the volley of (admittedly quite negligible) pain home on, you guessed it, the same three, for [0], (39-failed) [8], and [0] damage!

Halley fires on DT Archer Bat C, dealing [8] damage!

Soldier Battalion A flanks around and slashes Halley, dealing [16] damage!

Officer B conjures a spear of ice and launches it at Halley, dealing [5] damage and lowering her Initiative by 2!

Morgan slashes at Officer C, dealing [18] Damage, bringing him to his knees

Officer A comes to the defense of his colleague, attempting to slash morgan (13-pass), however the mage’s reaction time proves to finally be adequate, and he warps out of the way, only to reappear just behind the officer and strike him for [5] damage!

Soldier Battalion D continues to guard

Officer C, blood blinding one of his eyes, raises a battered gauntlet up towards Morgan, a small arc of electricity gathering there. With a defiant shout, he fires a blast of crimson lightning at the mage (46-fail), electrocuting him for [11] Damage!

DT Warrior Battalion C attempts to do what so many others had failed thus far and slash at Tama, dealing [1] damage for their trouble.

Dackly throws a killer glare at DT Archer Bat B, inflicting them with [150] Hate Stacks! Gozer meanwhile charges the bombs for another [6] points!

A flickering light blooms from the fortress as the forces, and those who can sense magic might detect a particularly strong surge of arcane might as the beacon only grows and multiplies along the wall. Within moments, the forces of house Asterlux are unleashing a barrage of support fire- the very literal kind -that sweeps across the field with a merciless roar. The blast carves its way through the enemy, scorching DT Archer Bat C for [47], Officers A, B and C for [32],[16],[23] and DT Archer Battalion B for [41] Damage.

Nothing is left of DT Archer Battalion C when the flames die, not even cinders. Likewise, Officer C lies scorched and still steaming on the burned earth, cooked within his own armor, and DT Archer Battalion B seems to have lost a unit during the intense blaze… and as quickly as the distant surge of force came, it fades away again, and the battle continues...

But howling echoes in the distance. Skeletal paws dash through the ashes. 5 Dragontooth Beast emerge onto the field. [DT units killed this turn: 5... the reinforcements stay]
