Fossils and mining rocks

Hi all. I have harvested about 15 rocks and no fossils yet. Am i doing something wrong? I am in the point of the game where i am searching for El with the castle guy. We dropped to a cave and i saved next to a mining rock.
Questions;
1. Do the rocks reform? If so how/when?
2. If they drop fossils do they all drop the same ones? I know gen6 fossils are acquired later in the game if i have the helix fossil. And i also know how to get the plume fossil.

as far as i know the rocks dont reform later on youll get blastpowder allowing you to mine rocks tiwce, furthermore fossils are very rare sou you didnt have any luck yet

I have gotten 1 fossil myself from the rocks and I think I was using blastpowder.

thanks. i got a helix fossil finally and i am soft reseting on a new mining rock now.
What about jaw fossil? I need to keep my helix fossil to join the cult or i can revive it?

You can get jaw fossils and other fossils by mining.You need to keep your helix fossil to join the cult.If you join the cult,you can do some side quests and get fossils as a reward.You can not revive the helix fossil.You can just mine an extra helix fossil.

you can trade helix fossils for gen 6 fossil after you joined the cult (joining doesnt require a helix fossil)

its a question of your priorities: if you want a tyrunt more then an omanyte you should keep the helix fossil to trade it later

Helix in 7th st. do not have a dome fossil you'll need a farfetch'd and a Pidgy's final form

You can also get an aerodacytl* from a trade

Find a rock to mine and save then soft reset until you get one

You have to mine for a helix fossil and trading the Farfetch'd and the pidgeot will get you one of each but you can't have a dome fossil in your bag/on your party

I believe it is pidove evolution to get the Aerodactyl

Or do you mean Farfetch'd they are in Chysolia Forest I believe however if you need one PM me and I can breed you one or ask a breeder or Zarc if we aren't in compatible time zones
