[IC] TotMV:G^2: Clash of Fate: The War Room (Social/Prep Phase)

Chevaleresse

Recommended Posts

The castle shuddered, and the errant heroes (and people-who-were-supposed-to-be-heroes-but-were-really-just-vaguely-heroic-sociopaths) found themselves hurtling toward their next quest. Quite literally, in fact; the shuddering only continued to build and build as the castle moved, the ancient vehicle feeling as if it was on its way to shaking apart and exposing everyone to the harsh void between worlds. This fear was assuaged for a moment; unfortunately it was quickly replaced by another fear, as freefall was added to this unpleasant experience. Most of the party suddenly found themselves teleported outside the castle, just above the ground, by some sort of unknown safety mechanism - or malicious force, it was hard to tell. Particularly when that force seemed intent on you eating dirt.

It was dark; they'd evidently fallen in at night, the moon hidden away. However, it wasn't as dark as one would expect; the flickering lights of bonfires scattered around the landscape both near and far lit the area up well enough to see the threat already approaching. A sinister rattling noise presaged the arrival of a number of creatures; they seemed to be human skeletons intermixed with those of beasts, but larger and make of a bluish gray material, with most of them only having a lower jaw in place of a full head. They raised their weapons at the group, and rushed forth; there would be no time to get your bearings.

Ghost will Fight. Aurora will Fight.

Ghost 45/45

"What the hell is this!?" Ghost almost felt her own words lost in the rushing wind as they fell. Tears streamed past her face, the wind tearing and howling in her ears as she peered in vain at her surroundings, seeing naught but the pinpricks of distant fire light. So this was what it was like to be hurtling towards one's death from a high place.... hmph, she'd never felt it before, what with the ability to-

"Shut up and use your matti, you fool! Unless you want to just give up and spatter yourself!"

His warning snapped her back to reality. Before she could on it however, she hit face first into the barren earth- and much to her surprise... she was still alive. Pushing herself up from the ground she did a quick check- nothing broken, nothing missing... perhaps... she'd panicked a little. The fall obviously was no where near as far or deadly as she'd been anticipating. Tama spoke to her once more, as the visage as what they could only describe... as well, similar to that lich, began to approach.

"Call to me!" the was a strange urgency to the demand. Already he was hovering in front of the godspeaker, the formless, shifting sphere of storm that he was. "there's little you can do in your current shape. Hurry, before they swarm us..."

she was too disoriented to argue. Nodding her head, she took a deep breath, her voice emanating outward as she began to sing, surrounding Tama with a curtain of gold. Soon what was just a mere apparition took solid form, and the Storm King howled at the oncoming fiends, teeth bared and eyes burning with amber light from within their black voids

Ghost Activates Blood of our Bond! (Free Action), Cutting her max HP by 11 points and adding it onto Tama's when he is summoned

Spoiler

Blood of our Bond: Level 1- [As a free action, the user reduces their max HP by up to ¼ it’s value. The next time they enter into a Hymn and summon their Deva, they may add this value unto the Devas Max HP. This change reverts if the Deva is defeated or the Caller ends the Hymn, however the caller will not be healed for the amount they originally sacrificed]

Ghost Activates Lend me your Voice! (Free Action), Draining all 11 of her synergy. She will add 10 to Tama's Res and 1 to his Syn when he is summoned

Spoiler

Lend me your voice: level 3-[As a free action, the user drains their Syn by up to it's Max Value. The next time they enter into a Hymn and summon their Deva, they may declare up to two of their Deva’s stats to add the amount drained from their Syn to. This change will revert if the Deva is defeated, or if they end the Hymn.]

Ghost then Enters a Hymn state, Summoning Tama to take her place on the battlefield

Spoiler

Tama Vajra's Stats upon entry into Battle:

Max HP: 40/40 (+11)= 51/51

Constitution: 3
Dexterity: 0
Intelligence: 0
Resistance: 7(+10)=17
Strength: 0
Synergy: 10(+1)=11

Aurora 42/42

Goddess Mode

The spider landed with far more grace than most of the others probably did. Not too far from the lying duo she'd saved earlier, interestingly. Not that she had time for any indignation over botched deals of the past; almost immediately, she picked up the vibrations of countless bodies moving across the earth. Turning to the ones that most immediately caught her eye, her outstretched a hand, several golden strands of light gathered within her grasp as the crystal flared to life... and then bloomed outward with a high explosive ferocity, sending a bolt of pure starlight streaking across the distance. It's divine glow sharply contrasted against the pitch black backdrop of the night sky...

Aurora uses Piercing Ray against Dragon Tooth Beast A

Spoiler

Basic Attack- Peircing Ray: [4d4+Syn light damage, 25% stronger against targets suffering Status ailments]

Friedhold would look around for a split second to determine friend from foe before lobbing a slick black pearl-like object at one of the nearest groups of enemies.

Friedhold uses "Gravity Well" on DTW:A dealing 5d6 damage to six of the warriors, costs 8 Eve(12/20).

Spoiler

Gravity Well: A smooth black orb that seems to weigh on the very fabric of reality, when thrown it creates vortex that sucks in nearby matter.

Choose a point, all nearby inanimate objects and up to 6 enemies are sucked into a vortex created at that point and dealt 1d6 damage for each other object of reasonable size caught in the vortex, enemies caught in the vortex make a [Str] vs [Int] check against you and on a failed check they become knocked prone, costs 8 Eve.

Samantha Grey joins the battle!  Lexiel the Successor joins the battle!

Lexiel appears in mid-air, and spends a few seconds orienting herself.  Then, she notices the archers and dives for safety behind the nearest piece of cover.  Thus protected, she decides to peek out and take a potshot at one of the archers with her narcojet rifle (basic attack at archer group C).  "Hit the archers!" She shouts to any allies in reach, "If we take them down, our fliers will be unopposed!"  Her aura pulses out, but there isn't anyone to heal or initiative boost.  As she takes her first shot, Lexiel scans her surroundings as best she can, using her new sense of vision to try to pick up something useful about our surroundings.

Samantha doesn't fly very well, not without burning herself to a crisp, but she can slow her fall to a survivable velocity and aim somewhat.  She might not understand everything that Dackly said (how does a real creature have hit points, anyway?), but she does hear that they hit hard but can't take a hit.  So she puts her psychic armor up, and aims herself towards beast group B.

[OOC:  Samantha activates her Psychic Armor to buff her resistance.  Lexiel fires a basic attack at archer group C.]

Solomon the wizard slowly considering getting a sense of responsibility and Atton the Commisar who justed wanted tea and crumpets joins the battle.

Solomon

Solomon gently floated down the battlefield before powering himself up using his standard brand of Eldritch magics. He didn't think it was time to say anything yet.

Solomon uses Ahead by a single page to buff Solomon.

Atton

Atton landed rather roughly on the ground, and he spent a few moments hiding behind the heavier armed men and women to dust himself off. After sighting the rather large army of what could only be identified as demons charging towards his group, he immediately shouted "Thanks you for the information ma'am!" Before charging towards cover while firing blindly at the nearest group of demons.

Atton uses Miraculous shot on Dragon Tooth Warrior x 10 A.

Venus participates in the battle! Kino and Enma join the battle!

Venus

Current health: 42/42

Venus straightened himself after the admittedly discomforting and unexpected fall, wiping off whatever remains of dirt stained on his face and mask. Venus hated the filth. Dirt did little to stain his already dark attire, but he was discontent on it being tarnished nonetheless.

If I get this outfit dirty, I'm going to be so annoyed.

His attentions then turned to the horde of beasts set out before him. An evening full a skeletal beasts and humanoids? Venus appreciated the setting, but not the canvas he was given. Too gauche, and too generic, much like the various books meant for young adults he would skim through in the past when he locked himself in his library scurrying for inspiration. But it will have to do. Their numbers appeared intimidating, but withered bone in itself was but simply a debilitated substance. What was more in that such undead creatures would not be granted the full experience of what was Venus' perfect gift of deaths -- such a thought mildly demotivated him, but he had little time to complain.

He would make things go out with a bang.

Venus tosses a Captive Audience at Dragon Tooth Archer x 10 B. (Does nothing this turn, but explodes next turn for SYN + INT + DEX) damage to all enemies.

Kino and Enma

Spooky scary skeletons! Enma exclaimed in excitement, disregarding the sudden surprise of which they had fallen into this new realm of night. Never thought I'd see the day those things come alive...C'mon, nee-san! Let's go play with them!

They don't seem friendly,  Kino prepared herself, releasing her cacophony of souls as they writhed in anticipation, prepared to aid their host in due battle. An estimate of the enemy troops would land Kino in an answer of it being almost a hundred...nowhere close to the souls that she herself had amassed, but dangerous nonetheless. Prepare yourself, Enma. This might go a bit awry.

Kino couldn't help but wonder what a being managed to control beasts like these, what reanimated these vessels of bone and hollow shells, deriving them of the purity and free essence that was their souls, souls that Kino desired to free, even if she selfishly used them for that mission in the meanwhile. To that end, though, Kino couldn't help to let out the sentence, not caring if the host of these skeletons was there to detect it.Your spectres against mine. May the best win.

And fun! Always at the ready, nee-san!

Kino activates the Debarred Eulogy, summoning Enma.

Kino's current health: 64/64

Enma's current health: 23/23

Enma's current damage: 10 (flat damage)

Enma attacks Dragon Tooth Archer x 10 B with her Basic Attack.

Kino attacks Dragon Tooth Archer x 10 B (the same target(s)) with her own necromantic Basic Attack, triggering Entente of Malice. (Upon being damaged by Enma, her target receives INT bonus damage from Kino's Basic Attacks.)

[Melina and Wyvis enters the fray!]

"Woah, what just happened?" Melina exclaimed, then found hundreds of monsters staring her down. "Well. Ain't this some shit."

Wyvis laughs. "Well, let us put off the bar until later, Melina?"

"Remember, it's own your tab."

"Duly noted. Now, come on! Let us strike this enemy down!"

"They all dragons, huh? They don't look up to no good. Well, let's go then!"

Wyvis draws his weapon and set crimson link between him, Jade and Samantha.

Isobel Low and LOTUS

Isobel's bandanna came loose as she fell through the air, the tied square of fabric falling off and floating through the air after her -- while her long brown hair whipped and buffeted as she fell through the air. LOTUS reacted immediately the moment that they were suddenly outside of the castle despite his own surprise, shouting advice at his holder even as the apron he was currently in twisted around dangerously. "Better your legs than your organs, land on your feet, land on your feet, land on your feet, land on your fee-" he blared over and over, his half-electronic-sounding voice cutting through the sound of the wind around them as he transmitted directly into Isobel's radio headset. "Eyaaaaah!" Isobel reacted poorly, considering all the sudden falling and shouting, but she twisted her body anyway to try to orient herself to land on her feet, but she-- ...actually landed on her feet. The dexterous woman crouched deeply as the force of her fall pushed her slightly downwards, then straightened herself up, looking around, and adjusting the bangle on her wrist. "LOTUS!" The skeletons were almost already on them, LOTUS had to be brief. "Don't get separated, because they might swarm you, but don't get in each other's way, in case they have area attacks or you hinder each other! I agree with the... angel, hit the archers, not the fodder! For this one, fire here!"

Weakness Pinpoint Dragon Tooth Archer B... or just one of them if that's how it works, I don't have a lot of options.

Navin Mhasalkar

The armored, Indian superhero felt himself falling as well... but not only was he a heavier man than the Scottish space botanist, he was much more armored, and rather less agile. So when he fell, he fell, colliding with the dirt with an "Oomph!" and a light spray of dirt as he made impact, flat on his stomach. But as uncomfortable as his fall may have been, it hadn't genuinely injured him, let alone killed him, so he could allow himself no time to simply lay there as if he were dead. He began pulling himself up off of the ground, in a rather practiced movement, pushing his arms up and getting his knee under him -- this was far, far from the first time he'd fallen, and was most certainly one of his softer landings. He immediately looked up once he got his feet, and saw the masses of skeletons advancing towards them. An army. He'd fought an army alongside others before. He'd beaten an army alongside others before! He wasn't going to be shaken from his duty by something like this! So Navin raised his fists, engaging in a bit of heroic banter as he rushed towards his new enemies, his fatigue forgotten. "Ah, more skeletons for me to fight today, it would seem. Lucky me, right? Well, I will not be cowed by simple bones and numbers! Come, my undead enemies, and let us see what you are made of!" His fists were already moving as he approached them, moving in a quick peppering of light punches... paired with the POP! POP! POP! of light explosions.

Edmond and Liliya are in the fight.

Edmond:

After Marisa had left, Edmond had deposited a few items in the communal inventory. He was not surprised, though, when the group was suddenly teleported out into the open. He pulled himself out of his fall, and landed lightly on his feet, before noticing the oncoming tide of attackers. More than we've ever yet fought...He lifted his rifle, and took some shots down into one of the archer groups. The woman was right about targeting them first, though of course, the absence of archers would help all of them, not just the fliers.

Edmond uses weld against Dragon Tooth Archer A, dealing 2d6+INT=2d6+10 damage, and adding 3d6+INT=3d6+10 to next attack against Dragon Tooth Archer A. (If any of my targets for either character are dead, just move one down the list for the new target)

Liliya:

She'd had a bit of time to rest before they arrived. As soon as the castle had started to shudder, Liliya knew they were on their way to the next location, and began to get ready. She wasn't entirely ready, however, to be suddenly dropped on her face outside the castle in the middle of an onslaught of skeletons. "What the hell. You can't just go around dropping people on their faces in the middle of the night." She muttered this to no one in particular, for there really *was*no one to mutter it too. With a fierce scowl, mostly hidden by the darkness, Liliya pulled out her knife, and charged on of the groups. On a quick viewing of the probably future, it seemed that while she might be hurt, there shouldn't be anything lethal coming up.

Basic attack on Dragon Tooth Warrior A: 3d6+DEX=3d6+10 damage, with a 10% chance of a crit.

Halley joins the fight.

Halley's walk back to the ballroom was interrupted by the abrupt teleportation. To her delight, fate delivered her more baddies to kill, right after the whole deal with the Metroid. Crowd control was her thing, so she was decently confident about this.

She took aim at the archers and fired a spray of energy, suppressing their fire.

Well, it was a good thing that Walmond was done talking with Mar, or anyone for that matter. Not a few minutes afterwards, the entire building began to shudder violently. Soon enough though that shuddering stopped... Mostly because Walmond suddenly found himself suddenly in a nightly area, specifically high above the ground. Now falling at a rapid speed. With a small sigh, Walmond lifted a hand and quickly snapped his finger, and not a second later Lambda shimmered into existence next to him, wordlessly picking him up and slowing her own decent to the ground.

Walmond and Lambda join the fight.

As the two floated down, Walmond managed to notice the large army of skeletons heading their way, visible by the sight of numerous bonfires. At that, Walmond frowned, standing up from Lambda's hold once she was near enough to the ground. Lambda herself didn't waste anytime moving in, her arms already expanding to create the shields she always used. Walmond, on the other hand, looked at the rest of the party, noticing a woman charging the skeletons with nothing but a knife. Questionable, but Walmond had a feeling that it was something she did normally and was good at. With that, he decided to give her a little bit of a helping hand, lifting his hand towards the woman, specifically the knife she used, and snapped his fingers, an arc of electricity suddenly flying from his hand and zooming straight towards the knife as it slashed at the enemy.

Lambda activates Defensive Modifications for 6 turns. 6 turns remaining.

Walmond uses Electrical Current on Liliya, giving her weapon a (12) bonus to damage for two attacks.

Hikari and Victoria will be fighting this battle.

Hikari was quietly glad that she could summon her gear - she'd have been caught completely flat-footed otherwise. As it was, she came to the ground easily with the help of Ivory.

"What's going on?" she asks, as she quickly summons the new gear she'd gained from their excursion to Rio.

"Combat." Ivory responds simply.

"...Guess we gotta do it, then..." With that, Hikari prepares for the fight.

Hikari's auto-support targets herself, Sachi, and Aurora with Rakukaja (RES boost), and Bridgett with Tarukaja. She casts Rakukaja/Tarukaja again, targetting Edmond and Navin with Tarukaja.

-----

Victoria had barely gotten her bearings upon being teleported back to the castle when suddenly she was tossed into another fight. For this reason, she'd not even changed back from her magical form, and got right to work. Seeing as most of the group would be melee and thus focused on the warriors, she concentrates her fire on the ranged attackers.

Basic attack on the first group of Dragon Tooth Archers. If the unit is dead, move down the list.

Sachi Honda

Sachi, having yet to have hidden her gear, starts covering people as much as she can! Sudden attacks like this were common back in Kamogawa, after all, and her and her fellow Heroes always had to be ready just in case a Forestize Warning came up and they had to deploy to protect humanity or whatever.

Keijo wasn't something she could sink her teeth into. This, however, was.

Tower Stance on Hikari and Kagari.

Empi Powderbelle

"Oh, you're shitting me right now, right? Do you assholes mind? I'm trying to have a heart-to-heart here!"

Empi, still in her rather lewd T-shirt and odd get-up, starts yelling at the Dragon Tooth Warriors.  She looks more exasperated than scared. She turns towards Mitsu.

"Alright girl, looks like you're going to have to protect me with your god power thingies, okay? I'm a lover, not a fighter, so I'll just hover behind you- WAAAAAAY behind you- and you can handle all the terrifying skeleton monster things! Don't worry, I'll teach you a few tricks of mine! Just follow my lead!"

Kagari

Kagari was caught by surprise, but moving instinctively, she rapidly swung her butt to generate waves of wind which cushioned her landing. Quickly taking in the vast numbers of enemies, she growled in irritation. She was bad at attacking large groups. She quickly transformed into her Idol outfit, beginning to sing a song of protection.

Kagari's SYN and DEX are swapped. DEX is now 7, SYN is now 9.

Kagari begins singing Knight of Firmament - All allies take 4 less damage as long as she continues singing.

-----------------

Prei

Prei flared out her wings just as she was about to land on the ground, slowing her descent. Jumping right into battle readiness, she drew Myriad, its form expanding into a spear. Meanwhile, a set of fiery spears materialised around her as she shouted out of habit. Outnumbered and surrounded. Now this was the type of fight she was used to.

"悪国大将プレイ、いざんまえる。いざ、参る!"

"Demon General Prei, engaging!"

Prei activates Elemental Spears (Fire). Her next attack will deal an additional 3 hits of 1d6 fire damage.

Mitsurugi landed gracefully, for all the world as if she had moved to where she was entirely intentionally. Their foes approached quickly, it seemed; a mass of cheap conjurations, imitations of the life that was a god or a youkai. She hadn't had much occasion to fight things like these, but it was one foe she could feel no regrets for destroying. "Very well." She leapt upwards, floating above the heads of most of the group, and made a sweeping, throwing motion, causing a number of bullets made of divine power to streak toward the enemy.

Mitsurugi uses Furious Tempest on Dragon Tooth Beasts B

Hiroki, on the other hand, both did not react to the landing in time and had no means that would make it anything resembling coordinated; she hit the ground with a squeak. She laid there briefly, trying to figure out if she was simply in pain or actually injured, before realizing that they were already under attack. She scrambled haphazardly to her feet, and called her mech up around herself without a word, the cannons flaring to life and spraying fire at their enemies. Curtain Fire on Dragon Tooth Archers B

Magna Sigyl

"No no no no no no I'm too young to die," Magna screamed, as she flailed helplessly in the air. But then again, she was already dead, she chuckled to herself. Wind rushed around her, causing her robes to flutter aimlessly in the wind. She watched, as her compatriots fell all around her at faster speeds. Her training covered many things, but never falling from lethal heights. As Magna neared closer to the ground, she performed an act of desperation. Materializing her scythe, she threw the weapon straight downwards, making several arcs in the air before embedding itself into the ground. With as much grace as she could muster, Magna landed on the pommel of her scythe with poise. Her red glow emanated from her eye sockets once more, as she reopened her eyes. "O-oh."

She was going to be okay.

Magna hopped off her scythe, rematerializing it from out of the ground, back into her hand again. It had seemed that everyone else had, more or less, arrived safely. With the imminent fear of falling to her death gone, it was apparent that they were in a more dangerous predicament than before. Hoardes of skeletons, as far as the eye could see, surrounded the area around them. She had seen Hiroki land a little further from where Magna had landed, and moved over to greet her.

"These seem like my kind of people, don't you think, H.K.?"

Soryn Éclaire

Soryn started plummeting headfirst towards the ground, as he made a futile attempt at continuing to read his book. The wind caused the pages to flutter wildly and about, causing Soryn to discard the book with little regard. "Merde! First I am teleported out of my own free will to some god-forsaken castle. Then, as soon as I get remotely comfortably, the universe decides it has a sense of humor and teleports me yet again." Soryn's eyes narrowed in irritation, as he was just about fed up with the current situation. Wings, like that of a bat unfolded from his back as he began to slow his descent to the ground. Right before he landed, he opened up his umbrella, gently dropping him off to the ground. He wanted answers. Now.

But as much as he wanted things to be explained, he could clearly see that now was obviously not the time for such frivolities. They would deal with their more immediate issues in front of them. From his umbrella, he drew the sword concealed within its central chamber. He raised his left arm in the air gracefully, as if delicately holding a violin in the air. With his sword, he lay the blade above his wrist, as if laying the bow atop the strings of a violin. And in an instance, he sliced his wrist open in a deft movement. Blood spilled forth, but instead of falling to the ground, it floated around him as if gravity ceased to exist. The wound from his wrist seamlessly closed up, as if he had never been wounded to begin with. From the instance of the blood harmless flowing in the air around Soryn, the blood violently formed in a spear, impaling his foes.

"Looks like trouble's afoot! We've got a surprise 'bout on our hands!"

The BOOMTOWN EXPRESS materializes directly adjacent to Magnum, and he rushes inside the vehicle, barricading himself behind its augmented metal exterior. Through the projectile-proof front window, Magnum looks at the oncoming enemy forces.

"Hey now, the hordes are at the gate! We're in for a primetime matchup right here, right now! I'm your host, Boomtown Magnum, and it's time to PLAY BALL!"

Jade fires a single bullet. It strikes one of the warriors right in the spine, blowing off one of the thing's arms and a good portion of its ribs for [31] damage!

Hayle conjures a blizzard to strike another group of the warriors for [24*10] damage! Six of them break into pieces, but the rest are still alive. Or as alive as some sort of magical skeleton familiar can be.

Tama Vajra takes Ghost's place on the field.

Aurora strikes one of the Dragon Tooth Warriors for [18] damage! Another one crumbles to dust.

Friedhold draws three of the remaining warriors into a black hole for [50] total damage! One more warrior is smashed to pieces.

Morgan charges Teleport Slicer.

Lexiel somehow manages to hurt a skeleton-thing with a tranquilizer gun for [11] damage.

Samantha shields herself with psychic energy.

Solomon somehow sends visions to himself to increase his INT and RES by 5 each.

Atton saves the party from trying to figure out how you sedate something with no organs by blowing the thing to pieces for [16] damage.

Venus throws a bomb at the first group of archers.

Enma strikes an archer in the second group for 5 damage. Kino strikes the same one for [20] damage, taking a good chunk out of the thing.

Wyvis uses Harvest on Jade and Samantha.

Melina conjures a shield before Samantha.

LOTUS pinpoints the weaknesses of the second group of Dragon Tooth Archers.

Navin strikes the same group four times with staccato explosions, dealing 44 damage! Two of the things are shattered irreparably by the blasts.

Edmond welds one of the archers for [15] damage. The next strike will do [25] more damage.

Liliya slashes the remaining warrior of the first group for [20] damage.

Halley suppresses a group of archers for 1 damage.

Hikari casts a variety of buffing spells.

Victoria fires her gun into the first group of archers for [10] damage. Hikari follows up for [11] damage, causing one of the archers to collapse.

Ritsu chainsaws one of the beasts for [9] damage.

Sachi enters her Tower Stance, protecting Hikari and Kagari.

Empi starts giving instructions to Mitsurugi.

Kagari transforms and begins to sing a protective song for her allies.

Prei conjures burning spears.

Mitsu fires a torrent of danmaku at a group of beasts for [10*10] damage! Three of the beasts crumble.

Hiroki fires her own spray of projectiles at a group of archers for [6*10] damage! Two of the creatures fall to pieces.

Magna strikes one of the knockoff skeletons for [12] damage.

Soryn commits bloody murder, except not really because he didn't down anything, for [14] damage.

Magnum learns that the Dragon Tooth Warriors, true to their name, are draconic in origin, as well as being magical constructs. Their movements are somewhat rigid; striking them as they prepare to attack may be effective.

The surviving skeleton from the first group takes a swing at Victoria for [5] damage.

The warriors in the second group attack Liliya, Morgan, Kino, Samatha, Venus twice, Enma, Hiroki, Isobel, and Magna for [4], [5], [6], [0 due to Phalanx], [14], [10], [0], [8], and [6] damage respectively.

Three skeletons leap at Dackly for [27] damage. Three others surround Mitsurugi and strike for [24] damage. Two more branch off and flank Samantha and hit her for [0] damage, breaking the Phalanx. The final two attack Kagari for [6] damage, one of them missing. Sachi takes [6] damage.

The other twenty skeletons charge forth, targeting the group of Aurora, Friedhold, Morgan, Lexiel, Samantha, Solomon, Venus, Kino, Enma, Wyvis, and Melina for [0], [8], [14], [6], [0], [6], [20], [18], [24], [8], and [0] damage.

The archers, as a collective, fire a volley of arrows aimed at no one in particular, dealing 2 damage to everyone on the field; several of them seem to be having difficulty drawing their bows, and do not fire.

The beasts circle the group. Four of them leap at Samantha, and [All 4 Fail] inflict bleeding wounds upon her. She will take 20 pure damage at the end of the next round for 3 rounds. Four more attack Hiroki in a similar manner and [3 Fail] tear chunks off her armor plating, causing her suit to vent plasma uncontrollably in places. She will take 15 pure damage at the end of next round for 3 rounds. The last two strike in the same way at Solomon, and [Both Fail] start him bleeding for 10 pure damage for three rounds.

Five beasts lunge simultaneously at Aurora, dealing [0] damage to her tough exterior. Three more go for a more tactical approach, striking similarly to how the first group had, inflicting [All 3 Fail] 15 bleeding damage on her as well. The last two bite at Sachi for [0] damage each.

Samantha does her best to stave off the inevitable with her healing action, Fiery Rebirth.  Hopefully this will keep her from dying.  Note that whenever Samantha is healed, Warsong triggers and deals 50% of HP restored as AOE damage to all enemies.  Also, Samantha cannot limit, aim, or choose not to use Warsong.  "Shit!  Uh, I could really (gasp, cough) use some help, guys!" She calls out, desperately trying to stave off her exsanguination.

Meanwhile, Lexiel's aura pulses, and the music grows stronger, though it is still largely unnoticable.  Venus, Kino, and Dackly are healed by the aura.  Not wanting to attract attention, Lexiel chooses to simply continue taking potshots at archer group C.  Hopefully, if she stays on the fringes of the fight and tries not to seem dangerous, she'll be able to build up enough mana to make a difference.  Not for a comet storm; after the arcology mission, Lexiel isn't sure she can bring herself to cast that spell again.  Even with Laver's help, that's a lot of bad memories.

[OOC:  Samantha heals herself 2d6 + [syn] HP with Fiery Rebirth.  This, like all healing she receives, triggers her Warsong perk, dealing 50% of HP recovered as AOE damage to all enemies.  Samantha cannot choose to limit or turn this off.  Lexiel fires another basic attack at the same archer group, and heals Venus, Kino, and Dackly 3 HP apiece with her aura.  It's not much, but better than nothing.]

Solomon

After successfully telling the laws of Magic and common sense to go sit down on a corner and think about what it has done, Solomon proceeds to sing a rather ancient and magical tune about Reading and Rainbows while raining down death and destruction on the few beasts cunning enough to get close to him, but not Intelligent enough to get the fuck away!

Solomon uses Beware my Might! On Dragon's Tooth Beast X 10 A.

Atton

Atton noted how fragile the enemy soldiers were, and how annoying their beasts were when it came to attacking "Ignore the soldiers for now, they are nothing but cannon fodder! Now I want those warp spawned beasts dead, and I want it done yesterday!" And after shouting out those words he turned  to the nearest wounded soldier to shout "Now get on your feet mag-woman? What....JUST GET UP YOU MAGGOTS! AND GO KILL SOME POOR DUMB BASTARDS WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!.".

After presumably taking another volley of arrows to his extraordinary well armored chest he would shout "Gargh-, Counter artillery fire will be appreciated, and stick together to prevent the enemy soldiers from surrounding you!".

Atton uses Just a Flesh wound on both Solomon and Samantha to purge them from one ailment each, his flaw adds a 1 round cooldown to it.
