      11/21 Maintenance   11/20/2017

There will be a scheduled forum maintenance on 11/21 in the American evening. We'll be updating to the latest forum version so that Ame can pretend she's a responsible admin when she begs the software proprietors for support to fix these stupid site errors instead of being left to cry into a dark abyss forever. The forum could be unavailable for several hours. Thank you for understanding.

First, the necessary info for those who are new and not familiar with Reborn's history: the Reborn game is based on a league from the Pokemon Online battle sim that ran from 2010-2014. Most of the characters in the game were from the league, and many events are inspired from things that happened during that time. (this includes what happened to Corey and Kiki; the real Corey actually did jump off a bridge and the real Kiki did have a terminal illness) In the online league, Lin had two different sprites: an adult one and a child one. Here's the adult sprite: Here's the child sprite: Unfortunately, battle logs and other data from the online league were erased with November 2016's site update. But in a battle log between Ikaru and Lin, after Ika won, Lin said "Come and find the real me~" I don't really know the full story since the online league was before my time, but that comment, along with Anna saying in-game that there was no one riding the Hydreigon, seems to suggest that the adult Lin isn't real. A popular theory about the voice when we exit the Arceus site after defeating El is that it's Lin. Also, a lot of people believe the girl Adrienn saw crawling up a wall and the voice we hear are the same person. We know that Lin and Terra have a personal connection. When Lin started gaining authority in Team Meteor, she kept giving Terra promotions. According to Terra's parents in the renovated Jasper Ward, after they adopted a girl from the orphanage, Terra suddenly completely changed personalities and that's when she went to the circus. In one of the branching story paths in Tanzan, Laura mentions that Lin used to be at the orphanage. Ama theorized in another thread that Lin had Terra hack the PULSE Magnezone data, which makes sense to me. I wonder if Lin also had Terra program an adult version of herself. If Lin is the voice/wall-crawler, that would mean Lin is stuck in time like Adrienn was and would still be a child. The tone of the voice we hear is playful and childlike (it also reminds me of the baby Arceus diary entry in Terra's glitch world). The E17 preview we got after defeating Adrienn says: "Do you understand now? Steel will not make me bleed. And your shining armor is but tinfoil to the brimstone breath of the New World." A few months ago, someone asked Ame on tumblr how good Lin would be in a physical fight, without Pokemon. Ame replied that we'll find out soon. From this and E17's preview, here's my interpretation: "Steel will not make me bleed": We're going to the desert in E17, which is where Titania's gym is. Titania is known to use her Aegislash in a specific way. Maybe she'll try doing this to Lin, but it won't work. Steel will not make Lin bleed. If adult Lin is just a computer program or a hologram, then it makes sense why she couldn't be touched. "brimstone breath of the New World": maybe this relates to a counterattack from Lin after Titania tries to use Aegislash. Ame said that two gyms would be using the Dragon's Den field. Maybe Titania's gym will be one of them, as a result of what Lin might do to her arena. Conclusion of the theory: -Adult Lin may be a computer program created by Terra, while the real, child Lin is waiting for something underneath Reborn -Titania may try and fail to defeat Lin There is one thing that doesn't line up, though: Lin wouldn't have any of the four keys, since they all belonged to different parties. If I'm remembering correctly, those who don't have a key aren't just ageless, they're literally frozen in place, which is why Adrienn thought not even a day had passed since xe went to check out why the Grand Gate was stuck. The voice calls out to us, implying the person isn't frozen. Possible explanations for this: -I'm remembering wrong about how time works down there -It's not that you're literally stuck in place like a statue, it's just one of those things where time passes differently. "A few minutes in here is 10 years out there" type of thing. -There's a certain amount of distance from the Arceus site where you're safe from being frozen. The girl may have been crawling on the wall because if she were on the ground, she'd freeze, but would be fine up on the wall. -Lin has some kind of special ability or other item that bypasses being frozen in time -she did have one of the keys at one point and either some of its essence is still with her or once you have a key, you're always immune from that point on even if you lose/give away the key in the future. Now that I think about it, if Adrienn saw the girl climbing on the wall, xe was able to move at some point while being down there...I'm now really confused about the time stuff. Either way, this is my current theory. I hope you enjoyed reading Credit to Ama for the Terra hacking PULSE Magnezone theory, because that's what led to me coming up with some of this. (the Titania vs Lin and dragon's den field was an idea I came up with a few weeks ago, but I didn't consider adult Lin being a computer program until I read the Terra hacking PULSE Magnezone theory) Also, if someone could remind me in more detail about how the time stuff works, that would be appreciated. I feel like I might have either got something wrong or jumped to conclusions there.

hi! i'll get right to the point since you already have an idea of what's up from the topic title. after various discussions of how we should handle things like Ace Membership and the EXP system, we've decided to put of them to rest. Since it was created, the EXP system never really lived up to its potential. a lot of that is on us as staff for not more actively rewarding participation but it's possible the system was impractical in the first place. further complicating this is the fact that the plug in we were using to support this system broke as of the site update a few months ago, making it even more inconvenient. we've talked about many ways to revise the EXP system, but in the end, nothing was agreed upon as being effective enough without unreasonably higher amounts of both staff and member participation. as for the ace system, while we did explore alternatives to earning it since the proverbial doors have been closed last december, the conclusion we arrived at was that the status was no longer necessary. the original goal of the ace forum and membership was to create a sense of subcommunity for veteran users in a site that has been quickly growing for a long time. other incentives, like showdown quirks, beta testing, and whatever else there was, were added later to give it more purpose. at this point, we have decided we use little by letting it go, since our need for subcommunity can be better met by a new feature. in essence, it is being replaced with something for all users. the keen user may already know just what that is from pecking around profiles and such on the site-- that's clubs! clubs are a new feature recently added to our software which allows forums to make their own groups, invite other users, schedule acitvities, and post topics to their own create forum areas. it's pretty nifty! there are several different types of clubs: public clubs can be accessed by anyone without joining, open clubs are visible and can be joined by anyone closed clubs can only be explored by members, and members must be approved by the leader and private clubs which are totally hidden except by joining through invitation with these new features, we're happy to turn control over your subcommunities and groups over to you all, and we're interested to see how you can use them! users will have free opportunity to create private clubs, but for all other types we will ask for promised participation of at least five total members. just like in anime! now you can live your japanese high school dreams through here. wait, that's just me?? al-all right... many of you, especially current Aces may be wondering what is going to be happening with beta testing if ace is going away. be not afeared-- current aces will be able to keep their testing status for future episodes as we will be moving beta activity to its own club. we will have a set number of slots which will probably increase with each episode. all existing aces will be the original club members, but only those who participate will remain for future tests. we will also accept applications from other users to occupy any free slots, however the application process is TBA. as a final note, please be advised that these changes will take effect after the Episode 17 beta, meaning nothing will be changing for the time being! clubs will be set to full access at the same time EXP and Ace membership is retired, which is with E17's community release. At that time the Ace member group will be removed, and its priveleges will be freely distributed to Member and Veteran users. That means more ability to do stuff for you guys! Since it is no longer relevant to EXP, the daily reputation caps will also be greatly boosted so you can freely rep each other away! If you have any questions about these upcoming changes, please feel free to ask. Otherwise, we'll see you with the community release in a few weeks!

this is an old story, but when i started this incarnation of the site it was meant to be very temporary. BW was announced but not out yet, and so i put up with the intent of running the league and just tiding people over only until the new games came out. that would've only been like a number of month period back in 2010. it was never meant to go this far thank you all so much for being here and being a part of this with me through everything <3

Hello y'all! It's Hooligan here showing some replacement sprites for Pokemon Rejuvenation and for the upcoming Pokemon Reborn E17. The sprites, as I said in the title, are for the Shiny Gumshoos, which will replace the Shiny Gumshoos for the Gumshoos Trump. Since the Gen 7 Pokemon are coming for E17, I thought of the idea of replacing the Shiny Gumshoos (which a Dev told me it would be looking like a Looker) for a Gumshoos in the Trump style. Gumshoos is well known for looking like Donald Trump and since when I saw a sprite of this Pokemon looking like Trump, I thought "Wynaut?" and now I'm releasing it for download. So, here are the sprites: They are all in the size 192x192, so it is compatible with any fan game with Pokemon from Gen 7. And then, if you want to download the .zip with the files (which you can simply copy the sprites and paste in this location of the Graphics\Battlers inside of the game folder), I will upload it as well. Thank you very much and I really hope you like my idea. I'm sorry for the people that like Trump and his politics, because I have no intention to offend these people, I respect everyone. Take care! Pokémon Crystonite Hey y'all! My name is Zach and I've been working on a fan-game called Pokémon Crystonite for about a year now. Obviously since I'm posting to the Reborn forums, my inspiration comes from both Reborn and Rejuvenation so I'd like to thank Ame and Jan for giving me the inspiration and courage to tackle my first fan-game. Below you'll find list of features and progress for this game. My planned release will be hopefully sometime in February so be sure to keep checking this forum for when the download link is posted. Story The Pokémon League Features The Gym Leaders Overall Progress Other features include... (Note that this is NOT a formal credits list but rather a preview of what to expect in the game. However, upon release a formal credits list will be provided on this forum and in the README section of the download. -Amazing remixes from GlitchxCity and Emdasche -Customs graphics made by moi -Other graphics by Jan and Ame (Again thank you both for the inspiration! Keep up the great work.) -And a huge thanks to Zumi, creator of Pokémon Xenogene (If you haven't already, please check out the Xenogene forum listed below) for the epic mugshots and battle sprites. (NOTE ~ I had to pay out of pocket for those battle sprites and mugshots and because of that, it is not allowed to use any of the above mugshots or battle-sprites in your own fan-games unless asked permission AFTER the Crystonite release.)

Short answer: you don't. Slightly longer answer: I don't really believe in indifference and "disconnecting heart from mind". Sure, sometimes it's necessary to draw lines in the sand, when the whole situation is 100% toxic and the other person is only going to hurt you and themselves with their attitude. That's just self-preservation, and some people wil be better suited than me to give out tips on this. But is it better to judge others based on facts rather than hopes and a will to change them for the better? Debatable, and I personally think it's not. See, the problem when you judge others based on facts, is that you base your perception of them off empirical evidence, in other words things that are finished, done. This completely ignores the fact that people can change, that they can make up for their past mistakes, and that being able to forgive is often an important part of moving on, be it alongside the person or away from them. Besides, if you completely give up on trying to change people for the best, why would people go out of their way to make you a better person? That's how I would see it. Protecting oneself when possible? Sure, of course it's the right thing to do. Discarding hopes and emotions in favor of logic and facts? Meh. That's what Florinia did, and I'm not sure it worked out that great for her on the long term.

In this post, when I say "you" or "your", I am referencing the dev team as a whole in the first paragraph, and primarily Octavius in the second paragraph. This game is bringing some very interesting ideas to the table, I definitely plan to check it out. I really like how you can catch the Guardians, I always liked deltas, and these sound even more interesting. As long as the Guardians are not too strong, since I think most people on these forums enjoy a challenge. Although, I do agree with Commander on the topic of type chart changes. I understand your motivations, but I personally think it would have a fairly negative effect on fans checking the game out. If you really want to use the type chart as another way to distinguish Pokemon Empire, then I understand it from a development standpoint, but I find it unappealing from a fan standpoint. In my opinion, a large portion of the beauty of Pokemon fan games comes from developers channeling their love for Pokemon into a journey featuring a side of Pokemon that fans have never experienced through the canon games. Although, there are only so many changes you can make before the game stops being the Pokemon journey that players started the game to enjoy, and it becomes something else. Not to say that this "something else" cannot be an incredible game in it's own right, but the majority of people on these forums are not here for "something else". They are here to enjoy, as mentioned above, a new journey featuring a new side of Pokemon. Originally, I saw Pokemon Empire as an incredible example of the mentioned new, interesting side of Pokemon. It took aspects seen only before in very different games or animes, but it was still a new journey with the same Pokemon that we have all grown so attached to. As the game continued, more and more unique features kept on coming, and with the latest balancing update, I feel as though it stopped being the Pokemon adventure that people here play fan games to experience. I am not trying to imply that a new take on Pokemon fan games is a bad thing, and I understand that you want Pokemon Empire to stand out among the crowd as something that we fans have never seen before. While this idea is a good one, you have to keep in mind that nearly everyone playing Pokemon fan games are doing so because of their love for the original Pokemon games. You have to know your audience, and understand their motive for playing your game. As I originally said, I think one of the main aspects leaning your game away from a Pokemon fan game and towards "something else" is the type chart changes. Personally, if I was playing Pokemon Empire and my Electrivire got one-shotted by some flying/psychic type Hoothoot evolution that I had never seen before, then I wouldn't even feel like I was playing Pokemon. Please, don't misinterpret my message; I am in no way saying that your game will not be successful or entertaining, I am confident that Pokemon Empire will still be an enjoyable game, and I definitely plan on playing it. In fact, the reason I spent the last half hour writing this post was because I really believe Pokemon Empire could be an outstanding game, and I want to give you my feedback so help your game become better. Anyways, I am only saying that I think you should make sure that you don't stray so far from the original Pokemon games that Pokemon Empire loses the natural beauty of Pokemon fan games. On another note, the tension has raised quite a bit from the last few posts, and I don't believe anybody wants to see it progress any further. Just calm down a bit, since there is honestly no reason to be fighting. When Commander originally posted about the balancing update, his intention was not to put Pokemon Empire down, or to tell you that your project is terrible. He is giving his honest feedback on what he thinks about the update, in an attempt to help you make your game better. Even if he may have been harsh, he just wanted to express how he felt in order to help you. I am fairly confident that he didn't spent such an evidently long time writing that post in order to put you down. The reason he spent a large chunk of his free time was to give you feedback to consider as you develop Pokemon Empire. As a game developer, it is your job to consider his feedback, and the feedback of everyone else, and incorporate it into your game as you see fit. I am not saying that whatever feedback Commander gives you should be incorporated into the game, but the point of feedback is to hear the individual opinions of different people so that you can adjust your game so that it will be more enjoyable for players. Everybody has different opinions on your game, and Commander simply expressed his. So, as I mentioned, it is your job to consider his feedback, along with the feedback of other fans, and decide what to do based on that feedback. Anyways, I just wanted to clear up the reason why there is no reason to argue, since everybody has the same intention of making Pokemon Empire the best that it can be. Also, I don't mean to say that everything about your game should be what the fans want; obviously you should make a game that you are proud of, or else there is really no point in creating it. Anyways, I hope you take everything I said into consideration, and remember that all of this is simply my opinion. Good luck with Pokemon Empire!

I had not intended to kill the zombie leader But I had not expected their plan to be simpler With Seal as the bait and Corso the master I had thought the reverse would be their answer I, who once was living a simple life as a monster, Had been taken and converted to live a disaster A gambit was all I could do, so I might muster A win, a victory, a glorious one to gain my luster And I had accepted, to live as a human forever And leave the group I had once been a follower My plan was to derail zombies and only hinder But, alas, I had not expected them to wither If Jace had lived, I would have chance better Unfortunately, a vote it took to get him faster And I was alone, alone in my chats bitter Lonely I had to plan to divide and conquer Once a monster, then a hunter, now a runner Once pure, now a fiend, living a life shorter If I asked for peace or mercy, I'd receive neither My former allies condemn me eager And now I must say my goodbyes forever I leave not bitter, nor in anger All that I ask is you not surrender In pursuit of justice and lives brighter Praise the Moon

Was hoping I wouldn't have to make a PR post here until release. Was already prepared for the virtual pitchforks and torches. Anyways this will be relatively important info for anyone who is already an established fan and for those who are on the fence with our ambitious little project. For the first time in the past few weeks the dev team was not on the same page, type chart changes were posted and mentioned without us having a formal discussion about the topic as we normally do with everything game related. So the majority of you will be happy to know that after the discussion we massively scaled back the total amount of type chart changes to like 5 total and none are game breaking or not intuitive. The new items, moves, abilities and such are staying. Slight stat buffs/nerfs and type changes will be looked at on a individual Pokemon basis. New pokemon(like pre evos to existing ones) will be made and added over time and only given to Pokemon who we feel need one (like dewgong) and they will be balanced accordingly. As I have mentioned in the past my background isn't in the world of Pokemon fan games as I have only played a few but in the realm of RPG development. This forum board is not the only place this game is being advertised so if a ton of people here are turned off by some of the rpg elements or non traditional fan game feel I'm okay with that as I can't please everyone. I hope I addressed the bulk of your concerns @Matt_ Now to touch on the elephant in the room for a moment, I would hope that it is common knowledge that one person's opinion doesn't represent the group (in this case the dev team). But I stand by anything anyone on my team says within reason. Passively saying we are in way over our heads and bound to fail isn't really criticism but hey its the internet so everyone is entitled to an opinion. Proving people wrong is part of the fun in working on a project. Regardless hopefully we can avoid normal debates going off the rails in the future. Pretty sure thats all I wanted to say so as always drop any comments, questions or concerns in the thread or direct them to my pm's. Til next time. Edit: I am a firm believer that its better to be honest with any community you are a part of then to keep things like this behind closed doors. With this flub in our communications I doubt something like the type chart incident will happen again so it may have honestly been for the best that this happened before beta testing and release.

Yeah, @Commander, we have discussed how absurdly ambitious this project is ad nauseum. But we have a huge development team that's committed to something new (even drastically new), which is something you know nothing about because you have a very narrow vision of how games should be developed. Which is fine, but we please ask that you don't "lecture" us like we have no idea what we are doing and saying that this project will fail because it isn't another Reborn or Insurgence carbon-copy. So thank you for the criticism, but we are well aware of what we are doing. We also kindly ask that you consider not trying to undermine this game and make people think we're idiots way in over our heads. Empire has a dev team of over a dozen very talented, intelligent, and open-minded individuals who are willing to do what Gamefreak won't: re-balance their game, and implement new and exciting gameplay features that increase game re-playability. And yes, people are going to be turned off by all these changes, but if you don't want to try something new and maybe better than what you're used to, then feel free. Reborn and Insurgence (and many others) exist, and they are great games in their own way. But Pokémon Empire is going to be great in its own unique way by doing things no other fangame has done before, and to extents they haven't before. And we have a team of professionals capable of making that more than a pipe dream. So best stay tuned; you might end up saying how refreshingly great a surprise Pokémon Empire turned out to be.

Post #3 | An Introspective into Balancing - 10/31/2017 | 31/10/2017 So what's happening to Random Trainers? Often looked over as the Gym Leaders and Evil Teams take the spotlight, the random trainers of the world need some love too! As mentioned earlier in the thread, there has been a hard level cap implemented - if you've forgotten, that means your Pokémon can't go past the cap with normal levelling. This allows random trainers to be refined and balanced much more easily. This is why I have appointed myself the task of editing every trainer in the region! Tedious? Yes! Foolish? Probably! Worth it? I sure hope so! What does this actually mean, though? Well, it's better to show through example... Subject: Rocker Max of Route 4 Meet Max. He's a Rocker found on Route 4, and we'll be using him to showcase what I've actually been doing! We'll be looking at his team on Casual, Normal, and Intense. First off, let's go over his team in Version 9: Rocker Max: Version 9 Items: None Magneton Lvl 39, no item, random ability, Screech, Flash Cannon, Electro Ball, Metal Sound (default) Magneton Lvl 38, no item, random ability, Flash Cannon, Electro Ball, Metal Sound, Mirror Shot (default) That's not too interesting, isn't it? They're using default movesets and it's just the same Pokémon twice!.The more uninteresting part as that he would simply change in levels for Casual and Intense. No new Pokémon, items, moves, or anything! Talk about lame. But that's where I come in, and I spice his team up a bit! Firstly, though, let's check the Casual variant: Rocker Max: Version 10 - Casual Items: None Magnemite Lvl 36, no item, random ability, Screech, Flash Cannon, Electro Ball, Metal Sound (default) Magneton Lvl 34, no item, random ability, Flash Cannon, Electro Ball, Metal Sound, Mirror Shot (default) First of all, I will mention that the levels have been modified to take into account differences in the gym badge caps (they've all been lowered by 5, except Venam's). Secondly, this still isn't that interesting, right? But there has been a Pokémon change: one of the Magneton is now a Magnemite! Tending to Casual players is important too! But onto Normal... Rocker Max: Version 10 - Normal Items: Lemonade Magneton Lvl 36, no item, random ability, Flash Cannon, Electro Ball, Metal Sound, Mirror Shot (default) Loudred Lvl 38, no item, random ability, Rest, Uproar, Stomp, Bite Chimecho Lvl 36, no item, Levitate, Uproar, Extrasensory, Heal Bell, Take Down (default) Ohoho, three Pokémon on a single trainer's team? That used to be a rarity, but in general, there will be a slightly higher amount, since giving too much exp won't be a problem anymore! Let's also take note of the differences here: Three Pokémon of different types and uses, one has a custom moveset, and the trainer is holding a Lemonade! While this won't be too common on Normal, more random trainers like Max here will want to heal their hurt Pokémon too! Now, everyone has been waiting for this, so here is Intense: Rocker Max: Version 10 - Intense Items: Lemonade Magneton Lvl 37, no item, Magnet Pull, Flash Cannon, Volt Switch, Metal Sound, Tri Attack Exploud Lvl 38, no item, Soundproof, Crunch, Stomp, Overheat, Fake Tears Chimecho Lvl 36, no item, Levitate, Psychic, Recover, Shadow Ball, Wrap Chatot Lvl 37, no item, Keen Eye, Chatter, Nasty Plot, Boomburst, Roost Each Pokémon now has their own defined moveset, and the Loudred has evolved. But it also looks like there's a newcomer to the team, and it's no stranger to most: Chatter Chatot! On Intense, you are expected to be a good player who knows a lot about Pokémon, and how to use them well. Thus, it should be no surprise that this is the difficulty that should expect you to be using Pokémon as well as you can as much as you can. Trainers are often neglected, but I think that these kinds of changes will make changing the difficulty somewhat more interesting. Thank you for your help Max, and thank you, the reader, for sticking with me. DISCLAIMER: This is simply what I currently have down for this trainer, and may not be indicative of the final result of said trainer or any trainers in the game, but will be a general indicator of my plans. This ain't easy, yo. Anything else? Welllll.... there is one more thing. This hasn't been said yet, but it was decided a bit ago: The jackpot starters shall be removed. No longer will players spend up to a week with their finger on F12, hoping to get the elusive starter. That was not the intention to how the game was played at all, and the fact that I would offer to help players get one so they could get to actual content, is, well... It wasn't the best idea in hindsight, let's put it that way. Anyway, that's it from me! Hope this was somewhat enjoyable. - Alex

I was curious about the community's opinion on this: Do you love the way Dragonite looks, or do you wish it retained more of the slender beauty of Dragonair? I came across this image recently https://www.deviantart.com/art/Dragonite-V2-411629213 and thought it was a really great illustration of what could have been. I personally love Dragonair and wish it evolved into something that wasn't so drastically different, but that's just me. What would you prefer?

    Alright, so I'm gonna be completely honest. With how things are going, there's no possible way that the demo will be out this year. My schedule is PACKED and I've been incredibly busy with school, commissions and keeping up with streaming, so it's been very hard lately to properly sit down and work on the remainder of the graphics... Not to mention that my motivation has been dwindling quite a bit because tbh? The last stretch IS SUCH A DRAG. And i feel kinda bad about promising release dates, so uh. no more of that. i'm really sorry. I could rush things and finish them off quick quick quick and still get something out on my birthday, but it'd be so incredibly rushed and most likely full of bugs, so I'd rather avoid putting out something lackluster in favor of a delayed but polished game. When it'll be out is gonna remain unknown for a while though, but I'll make sure to post something once Alpha testing has started, so you guys can get an impression as of when to expect the game to release to the public! but to make up(?) for the delay once again, i'll let you guys hear a song that i initially really didn't want to let you guys listen to before the game would be out as I wanted to keep it a surprise, but i felt so bad about constantly having to disappoint people with the release... So here it is anyways! The music you'll hear when you fight against the final mon of a gym leader! And to top it off, here's some fancy trainer sprites that the lovely @Atticus has done! He's been working super hard on getting all of the OW sprites fixed up as well so they don't look as awkward while moving around in the maps. YOU'RE DOING GOD'S WORK, THANK YOU SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAAA Updated Youngster Female Ranger So yeah, things are still progressing... Just rather slowly. I really hope the long wait will be worth it though ;;

Hello good people of the mod market! Since gen 6 the exp share has become a toggleable key item that lets all team mates receive experience without switching. I haven't heard of any plans to put this feature in Reborn or Rejuvenation. I think that's a bit of shame. Are there any mods that enable this? Are there any people presently working on adding this feature? I tried searching around this forum but I couldn't find anything. The new exp share is one hell of a quality of life change that makes a strong team of 6 level up together even if one mon happens to be more useful at the moment (say the fire type in the forest setting). It also lets us level up a whole squad of weaklings easily and without much hassle. I get that the huge exp boost makes the game too easy in X&Y, but it would be cool if the Reborn version just divides the exp across the whole squad, or even if it lowered the total exp gain a little.

I really don't understand the complaint about it being 'broken': 1.) It's a mod. If you think it breaks the game by trivializing the leveling process, don't get it. There are plenty of other mods that trivialize aspects of the game. 2.) Grind is not difficulty. Grind is simply grind. I have a pretty extensive background from years and years of playing ARPGs, where grind is the name of the game, and I have a pretty high tolerance for it, but I would never consider it 'skillful' or 'hard'. Leveling pokemon is not 'hard'. It's just your tolerance for grind and a timesink. If you realize you need a specific pokemon and you know where you can get it and what level you need to be, it's no feat of skill to get there; it's just putting your nose to the screen and grinding. Any schmuck can do it, it's simply a factor of time invested. 3.) Reborn already has a check on acquiring XP. If you overlevel you just end up hurting yourself because your pokemon no longer obey. The official games do not, so gaining 3.5x the XP dramatically changes the grind curve. Though I do think these games have made an attempt to balance it. Try playing Sun/Moon from the beginning with no EXP Share and compare it to a playthrough of an earlier gen game. No EXP Share would require a fair bit more grinding to get your party up to level. I would be down to add a mod for it, as it's a nice QoL feature and allows you to experiment with grinding more potential teams. And hey, as an optional mod that enables a toggleable feature, if you think it makes the game too easy, turn it off.

Well hello there, cute little fella! Wanna go an adventure with me? Say hello to Muskoat, the tundra Pokemon! Muskoat is a poison/ground type based on the musk ox, and it lives in the colder reaches of the Telius region. When you can eventually reach level 28, this little guy will evolve into a big bristling Musktox. And while both forms have low sp. atk and speed, they have immense utility with ways to poison the opponent, support the team, recover damage, and even hit back surprisingly hard! Once fully evolved, musktox is a formidable physically defensive wall that thrives specifically on hail teams thanks to its snow cloak ability and its useful resistances. Ice, common on hail teams, is weak to rock and fighting. And its Ground attacks can hit Fire and Steel types too! And while it has an awesome specific niche, it can definitely still hold its own as a standalone Pokemon with its other ability, poison point. Want to know more? Well you'll just have to wait and see what he can do yourself! Because this little guy is available starting in Episode 1! Can't wait to see you there!

Thanks for catching Zebstraika; I'll fix it tonight too The Alolan (or as far as Reborn is concerned, Alternate) forms are not noted on the obtainable list, true... Unfortunately because of how it was set up it wouldn't be simple to display them. So, they're just combined. For instance, you saw that Vulpix is now wild. That's actually A-Vulpix that's wild. Normal Vulpix is still an event. I'll go over some of the ones that are already marked similarly: rattata and raticate are both both wild same with sandshrew/sandslash, marowak and diglett... not sure about dugtrio offhand, meowth if not persian cant remember (and it's not quick to look up), probably both both geodude and gravelers are wild, and both grimer/muks. a-raichu is evo-only unlike kantonian. that should cover everything! not that any of it matters next to vulpix.

What's up it's your girl Jessica taking over Leader Reveals and stealing Quinn's line! Today we have a special reveal as it's someone you all know and love! I'm not one to drag things out so I'll just dive right into it! Congratulations, you've unlocked.... Badge: Fault IIIIIIIIIIT'S.... DUNCAN! As I'm sure you're all aware Duncan is a well versed veteran of the Ground type. He loves getting down and dirty so you better watch out for any cheap tricks! I'm just kidding! He also has a brand new partner, Nidoking! I asked him about that, actually, but his answer wasn't very satisfying. If you're curious feel free to pester him about it when you see him! Brief introduction aside; I promised an interview, didn't I? Below are some of the questions I managed to ask along with his replies: And there you have it! With Duncan's return we have one last bracket 4 leader to go! Which also means another interview! Though given how quiet this leader is that may prove just a tad difficult. However, I am not one to give up, and neither is Mr. Wiggles! See you next Tuesday! XOXO Jessica and Mr. Wiggles!

TEEEEECHNICALLY As someone who is uninterested in talking about emerging gender identifiers or lack there of - I would say this is cutting edge game customization and appreciate it in the Reborn region's own reality. It also takes the focus away from "gender" and more on "appearance" - which I feel is what players today "really" care about. In a Pokemon game, the gender symbol isn't a sign of emerging identity or any sort of struggle, it's just a symbol. It shouldn't be restricted to specific appearances, because that effectively pigeon-holes non-binary individuals into a specific "appearance", which probably isn't a realistic portrayal of a NB person.

I was going to say the same thing, but @GS BALL beat me to it. only one parent needs to hold the Destiny Knot for it to work

Hi and Welcome to V9 Item Guide The guide might not be complete, and those are all the items I found myself in the game, it might include some spoilers so be warned! If you find any more items please comment bellow from where you can find them. Make sure to use the itemfinder later once you get it, it's very useful and handy while you search! Marks: - indicates the item is not hidden, a poke ball or a similar sprite is shown on its place. + indicates the item is not hidden, a similar symbol shown on its place. Have fun hunting. Let's talk about the categories in the Status Update block, since some of them have changed a bit from before. Gen VII Updates: (we didn't even have a dev blog last time there was a generation update!) Sprites We can't use the Smogon set, so we've gotta scrounge up our own. Fortunately many pixel artists list theirs as free use and so I've been able to gather a solid chunk. We'll polish them and make the rest. This progress bar also includes Shiny and Egg spriting. Scripting Marcello is a peach and this will be almost (if not) entirely his domain. It includes updates to old battle stuff, most of which have already been done as of this writing, and the implementation of all moves and abilities. It is a long road! Data This is basically everything in the PBS files, such as data, movesets and TM availability, plus details on the new items/moves/abilities. Marcello is actually a peach and a half and is fronting most of this work as well. Field Updates Although I had hoped we would be done with them before, Psychic Terrain will be added. This section will also include adding new attributes to all field for any relevant moves and abilities. Gameplay The most generic name possible. This is a catch-all for adding new Pokemon into events/encounters and trainer battles, and distributing new items. Tbh this is the fun part. New Content: Misc Updates So I lied and this isn't actually new content at all but whatever. In the past we had separate categories for graphic/event/etc updates but there's few enough this time that I'm lumping them all in here. AI Updates A planned renovation to get down and dirty with the AI. Right now most moves have little or no AI coding specifically for them. I won't get through all the moves this episode, but I'll spend some quality time with a good chunk of them. Graphics/Maps Previously these were separate but I put them together since the graphics in question are usually tilesets for new areas, and I prefer to tailor tiles to their maps. There are 7 new areas to make this episode, so this will be the bulk of the content work! Eventing Teleport events, area puzzles, encounters, items and special Pokemon. This is sort of a catch-all for everything that is not mapping, but also not part of the main story. Story All story events. This episode will have a branched story, so it will take a little longer.

Anyone else just get really nervous and confused whenever someone reps their stuff? Like, I just sit around trying to figure out why (unless it was something humorous).

I felt bad to not being a part of Reborn way much before. But now, I realized that Reborn is the place where I want to be for a long time, since there are always many kind people. As I can see, most of the people that join Reborn stays for up to 2 days. We wish that these people could participate as well and that they could not be shy. Despite that, we have people that participate a lot and are very nice people. It's nice to be here, and I hope I can stay here for even more time.

you know for a while my todo list got up to like 5000 lines. but that's what i get, i suppose my side of the function code crawl is done, which is basically just writing out the logic for our 120 function codes that we've selected as this episode's lucky winners. for the most part these are common moves like status, set up, recover, etc... plus certain things i know gym leaders use. so i'm hoping for high mileage with these. they've all been written out and now marcello is just finishing up putting them into the script properly. meanwhile it's up to me to tie up loose ends in the misc update category, which is nearly entirely limited to bug fixing by now. historically that does not take very long, but i also have not gone through the forum for bugs basically all episode, so i will be doing that over the next week. we'll then start testing. we're doing it a bit different than we have in the past, so i'll go over how it's structured this time to inform newcomers and illustrate changes. in the past our test sequence has been ...where the supervised test is one where one person (hi ikaru) plays through the episode and all with me watching so i can closely see any problems with how it plays or things that need to be tweaked. this has just been called alpha in the past. the beta has been done by ace members, community is a release available to all forum members, and the public release is open to everyone finally. unfortunately many bugs have still passed to the community and public releases despite this. that's because we would find bugs in beta or community, and then take a pass at fixing them, but sometimes that fix fails or breaks something else, and we dont find out until the public release because all the testers had already played the originally broken version. for this reason starting this time, we'll have more waves than before: i just mentioned the supervised testing was considered alpha before, but we're now calling it that. instead the alpha testing will be done by the supporter group here on the forums privately. internal testing likewise will be done by the dev team as a whole amongst ourselves. we didnt do this before due to having a smaller, more inconsistent group, although it somewhat happened less formally anyway. my hope is that taking it through these different waves will give us plenty of time to fix as many bugs as possible. of course there are some things that just won't statistically present themselves until swarmed with a certain number of new players, so it's not as if we can promise a bug-free release. i ask for your understanding as always. in order to compensate for the increased number of waves, i'll be shortening the time of each one as well. in the past the beta and community tests have not had a fixed timeframe, but usually ended up being around two weeks each. with more waves now, i'll be limiting each one to a single week so that we can move through it in a similar amount of time. the supervised test should not require a week anyway... anyway, this all means that if there are no especially time-consuming problems, the episode will publicly release four weeks after the internal testing begins. since we are reaching this stage, it also means this will be my final post here for this episode. from here on out, i hope you can wait for it patiently. although the story content of the episode will be somewhat light, there is plenty to explore, and especially with 7th gen being added there are many new pokemon to catch too. in fact, as of the end of E17 only six non-legendary lines are still unavailable. and as for legendaries... maybe you'll even get some action with them too. until next time ≮̕3҉
